Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Bendemeer NSW and occasionally travel to Central QLD.
I'm happy to travel.
Distances beyond 75km from Bendemeer will incur travel fees.
Where should I have my shoot?
JMH Creative family sessions are about documenting your now. The aim is to provide a snapshot of your life just as it is. With that in mind I would recommend the session to be undertaken at your home, in your backyard/paddock. The location should be meaningful in some way to you. If you have a specific location in mind I am more than happy to accommodate. Rural locations work best for JMH Creative, there is nothing better than a wide open space with grass, trees and sunlight.
Please keep in mind that weather conditions could impose unfavorably on your session date. Therefore a back up location could be handy. Keep in mind a sheltered location with plenty of natural light to be used as a back-up location.
Please note that shoot locations beyond 75km of Bendemeer will incur additional fees. Please get in touch to enquire about travel fees.
What do I wear to the session?
I advise you to wear something that showcases who you are, something you are comfortable sitting/standing in and that you would be happy to see yourself photographed in. Everyone involved in the session should be dressed to complement eachother. Neutral tones and complementary colour schemes work best so that everyone matches in an aesthetically pleasing way. Pops of colour are great, but consider what your surroundings will be (think bright green shirt against bright green grass-not very complementary). Some great colours are cream, navy, tan, soft blues, maroon, browns etc. Please avoid lots of plain black clothing and also avoid shirts with large graphics or logos.
If you are having trouble deciding, I am happy to provide more assistance! Just let me know what you are thinking, laying out everyone's outfits on the floor or bed is a great way to consider how they all look alongside each other.
What is the best time to schedule a photoshoot?
As I am a natural light photographer, the best time for an outdoor photoshoot is during the 'golden hour' which is an hour either side of sunrise and the hour prior to sunset. This time provides the best lighting to complement people and surroundings.
Inside shoots work better mid-morning or afternoon when maximum natural light can be utilised.
What happens if it rains or someone is sick on the scheduled date?
If the shoot needs to be cancelled due to unforseen events such as an illness or poor weather, the shoot can be postponed to an agreed upon alternative date.
Booking fees are non-refundable and therefore if the shoot is not rescheduled the booking fee is lost.
When will we get our photos and prints?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 4 weeks. Once you have chosen your images and your account is fully paid you will receive a download pin to download your chosen images.
My professional printer is not local and prints can take up to 6 weeks to arrive.
Can I purchase additional images?
Absolutely! If you are unable to choose the exact number of included images in your package then additional images or the entire gallery can be purchased. Prices will depend on the quantity of gallery images from the session.
Can I purchase additional prints?
Absolutely! If you are unable to choose just one image to be printed, additional prints can be purchased. A print price list will be sent out with your gallery.
Do you have payment plans?
JMH Creative offer payment plans, however booking fee of $99 must be paid to secure your session date and gallery delivery + print order will not be undertaken until full payment is received. Payment plans can start from $25/week.
Do you offer sessions without prints?
No I do not offer sessions excluding prints. Prints are included in every family or event session offered. I see many people with images downloaded on a harddrive or digitally shared via social media and then they never get around to physically printing images. This is why my services include physcial prints. Furthermore, there is a huge quality difference in generic photo printing vs professional printing and I like to provide evidence of this to my clients. If you have invested in a professional to use professional gear to capture your images then you are essentially wasting that effort if you then print images using poor quality printers.
Do you have to post images from the session on social media?
Sharing images from photo shoots helps promote JMH Creative and bring business in. I would only share small selection of pre-approved images from your gallery. However if you are uncomfortable sharing some of your images so publically then that is totally okay. We can negotiate image sharing after your gallery is delivered and there is absolutely no obligation to approve any images to be shared publicly. It is completely up to you!
